We are the Arts and Crafts Society. The Arts and Crafts Society is a NEW society for the 2024/25 academic year, following a high level of success that the Arts and Crafts club had in the previous 2023/24 academic year.
As the Arts and Crafts Society, we do a session each academic week on the Harper Adams premises. We also will have occasional socials where members are encouraged to get to know one another (regularity will depend on how often you want to meet!).
You should join the Arts and Crafts society because it has been proven that doing arts and crafts can relieve stress! This club offers an opportunity to meet some like-minded people and offer a safe space to relax, have some fun, and get crafting! All are welcome, no matter how creative you may be.
Memberships:
Our memberships for 24/25 are:
A – Half membership – £55 for the year
Includes: The main bi-weekly sessions, plus any equipment needed for all these sessions!
And B – Full membership – £80 for the year
Includes: The main bi-weekly sessions PLUS the crafternoon bi-weekly sessions, a discounted admission price for any socials (such as pottery painting), and any equipment needed for all these sessions!
Types of sessions:
Main sessions = These sessions will be the structured sessions that occur bi-weekly. These will be led by either members of the committee, fellow students, members of staff, or local crafters.
Crafternoon sessions = These sessions will run during the weeks in between the main sessions. These will be in place to work on scrapbooks (to either record your crafts, or your year), your own crafts, and to meet up with like-minded people regularly, to improve mental wellbeing.
Our Aims for this society are to:
- Establish an inclusive atmosphere for all attendees
- To allow all attendees to get involved regardless of level of creativity
- To nurture and foster members' imagination
- Ensuring that all barriers to crafts are eliminated (or attempted to be)
- Help to alleviate stress from studies
