Who we are:
We are the Harper Adams University Women’s Cricket Club. The Women’s Cricket Club has been running at Harper Adams for one year, with this year being the first as a Student Union Club. We are looking for members of any background, whether you have played for your county or are brand new to cricket. Everybody is welcome. We are a friendly group of girls who play both competitively and casually. We would love to have you join the team!
We work in partnership with Forton Cricket Club, which your membership fees include. This allows us to train with their ladies, and be involved in their softball, hardball and festival matches. Their coaches are also available to train us.
We hope to build our own Harper Ladies team as well, to enter leagues as a university and hopefully BUCS. Having the cricket ground right in front of main building is a fantastic opportunity to play, and one of our goals this year is to have a Staff vs Students Cricket match, plus other inter-uni matches, such as REALM vs Agric's and a Hobgoblin Alumni match.
When we train:
As the Women’s Cricket Club, we train every week at Harper Adams or Forton Cricket Club premises. During the winter season, we will be in the Sports Hall 7:30-9:30pm every Thursday. We are also planning on running friendly practice games on a Friday Evening, at 6pm. Once the summer training season starts around April, we make use of the facilities provided at Forton CC. Depending on numbers and weather, we also may make use of the Harper ground for some friendly matches and casual training outdoors.
Membership:
With a membership, you will get hardball & softball cricket training and coaching, plus matches, friendlies and festivals. Equipment to train with is provided, and use of the facilities is included.
Forton CC membership also provides access to events held and ran by Forton CC.
In addition to the annual membership, some extra costs may incur. These may include, but not limited to, Match Fees (typically £5/game with Forton CC), Match tops and Club Clothing, BUCS and your own cricket equipment if you wish to purchase.
Our membership fees for 24/25 are:
Women’s Cricket Membership - £45
Includes: Hardball and Softball Training & Coaching, equipment to use, plus Hardball and softball Membership to Forton Cricket Club (worth £35)
*We will provide cricket kit to train with so having a Cricket Kit is not a necessity to join*
Socials:
We also have monthly socials where members are encouraged to attend to build friendships outside of training.
Follow us on Instagram @hau.womens.cricket where we post photos and updates about the team.
