If you are worried about your health - or that of another student - it's important you seek help. Whilst it's normal to have times of feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed, sometimes extra support is what's needed to get you through tough times. By having a chat - with a trained professional, a friend, a family member or anyone you trust - you can get the help you need.

Student Services

In Student Services, the mental health advisor can offer support and advice on mental health and medical care, can help you to cope with your condition and can identify and refer you onto other colleagues who may have more knowledge in the area you require help with - academic learner support, disabled student support, occupational therapy support or chaplaincy (religious or otherwise) for example. The Wellbeing Officers and Advisors are available to offer advice and guidance on a wide range of issues including:

  • If you are struggling in any way-whether that be academic or personally,
  • If you are concerned about something you may have seen or about a friend,
  • If you have been a victim of crime
  • Struggling with issues around food/eating disorders
  • Stress/anxiety/low mood
  • Bereavement
  • Considering a break in study

If you would like an appointment with a Student Services Counsellor, Mental Health Adviser, Occupational Therapist or Wellbeing Officer, it is important that you complete the self-referral form. If you have already self-referred to the team but need to contact them, you can do so by phone (office hours: 01952 815396), email (studentservices@harper-adams.ac.uk) or by popping up to the Hi Point (first floor Faccenda).

You can also access a wide range of resources via the Student Services SharePoint, available HERE.
